William J. Chapman is from Las Cruces, New Mexico and is currently finishing his
undergraduate degree in vocal performance at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor in Belton Texas. He has performed in various roles while attending UMHB. Some of these roles include
“Samuel,” from the Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance, “Alfred,” from Johann Strauss’s
Die Fledermaus , and recently performed as “Rinuccio” in UMHB’s production of Giacomo Puccini’s Gianni
Schicci. As his academic career has launched forward William Chapman has acquired various top standings in vocal competitions
and for two consecutive years he has placed in the top percent in the National Association of Teachers in Singing
having finished second place in his division in the graduate entries. William Chapman is currently studying voice
and opera performance with internationally renowned bass-baritone, George Hogan.
The
Atlantic Coast Opera Company has recently hired William Chapman to perform the role of "Alfred," in the production
of Die Fledermaus for their 2005 season along with participating in the their Young Artist Program. This will
